Fluorescent security elements of UAE Dirham

The UAE Dirham has been used since 1973. The Dirham notes are available in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1,000. The UAE Dirham is pegged to the U.S dollar.





1. 100-dirham Note


- Front : By irradiating with UV rays, fluorescent security fibers appear, and the red serial number changes to fluorescent orange. In addition, a falcon, the national symbol of the UAE, and '١٠٠' which represents the banknote turn fluorescent green.
- Back : Fluorescent security fibers are found across the note.


2. 500-dirham note


- Front : By irradiating with UV rays, fluorescent security fibers appear, and the red serial number changes to fluorescent orange. In addition, a falcon, the national symbol of the UAE, and '٥٠٠' which represents the banknote turn fluorescent green.
- Back : Fluorescent security fibers are found across the note.

3. 1,000-dirham note





- Front : By irradiating with UV rays, fluorescent security fibers appear, and the red serial number changes to fluorescent orange. In addition, a falcon, the national symbol of the UAE, and '١٠٠٠' which represents the banknote turn fluorescent green. The marks on both ends of the note become fluorescent. Fluorescent security fibers appear all over the note.
- Back : Fluorescent security fibers are found across the note.
